Call for Board Member Candidates / NTCC July Newsletter

Well it’s that time of year again. The NTCC is making a call out to those interested in becoming a Board member of the Council. The Chairperson of the committee to present a slate of candidates to the membership is Vince Heilman. There will be 7 seats up for election by the membership. They are 2-year terms and you can contact Vince with your interest via e-mail at vince@apexity.com or call him at 813-787-4127. Your interest in your community and maintaining our quality of life we have grown to know are the only requirements besides being a member in good standing with the Council. We will be gathering candidates in July and the Nominating Committee will interview candidates and present a slate to the Board in August. Ballots will be mailed to all members in the first week of September and the results will be announced at our Annual Membership Meeting and Business Expo the last week in September. The new terms start October 1, 2006. We appreciate your interest which requires attending a Board meeting once per month and a monthly membership meeting plus serving on one of our committees. This is a great chance to meet new people with your same interests and give something back to your community.

We are co-sponsoring an information meeting on the proposed high rise condo projects on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. There has been a lot of concern in our community, especially in Tampa Palms, and other communities in Southern New Tampa regarding this issue. The NTCC has written a letter to all the county commissioners and County Administrator Pat Bean asking for an acceptable development plan with concurrencies being met to minimize negative impact to the community

The annual Business Expo is coming up in late September. Those businesses which would like to participate who are members a booth will be free, non-members the booth fee will be $75, but will include a one business membership to the NTCC.
