The New Tampa Community Council is a non-profit community-based organization serving and promoting the quality of life in the New Tampa area in the interests of its residents and businesses.
Marked by intelligent efficient partnership among New Tampa residents and business leaders, the Council has provided innovative solutions and instills high standards for preserving a high quality of life in our community since 1991. Working colleague-to-colleague, neighbor to neighbor the members of the New Tampa Community Council have tackled and triumphed over issues most important to the business and residents along the Bruce B. Downs corridor North of Fletcher to S R 54. The Council has positively impacted areas at the very heart of our quality of life.
Effective Leadership
- Council of New Tampa Communities has representatives from all HOAs and COOs.
- Education Committee consists of all New Tampa PTA presidents.
- Organized and continues to play an active role in the New Tampa Transportation Task Force.
Shaping the quality of education
- Raises funds for area PTA's scholarships the Friends of the Library and more.
 Building community resources
- Helped establish the New Tampa Regional Library
- Lobbies for new parks, bike paths, city/county services
- Pushes for new roads and road widening.
Raising standards of safety
- Established and coordinates local Business Watch for all businesses in New Tampa
- Lobbies for traffic lights and other safety features along BBD.
Empowering public policy
- Provides a platform for local officials to meet and discuss issues with residents and business leaders.
- Establishes lines of communication with city, county and state officials.
- Registers voters throughout New Tampa.
- Works with city and county to develop an overlay district to control the appearance of commercial development.
The Council is a source of area news via monthly meetings with public officials and other influential speakers. Political debates, Business Expos and Welcome Seminars inform New Tampa residents of what's happening in New Tampa.
New Tampa Community Council members enjoy the camaraderie of others who are committed and willing to contribute their talent and expertise to make a difference in the community. We need only look around us to see the results.
